Capture complete order context
The submitted order should retain product names, quantities, modifiers, notes, service type, table where relevant, and a stable KOT sequence. Kitchen staff should not need to reconstruct missing details from the cashier.
Separate active work from history
Keep the current queue scannable and give each ticket a direct completion action. Completed work should leave the active surface without erasing the underlying order history.
Design printer failure into the workflow
Decide whether the kitchen can continue from an on-screen queue if paper, network, or printer hardware fails. Test reprinting deliberately and avoid generating duplicate preparation work.
Preserve submitted snapshots
Later menu, price, or tax changes should affect future additions without silently rewriting items already submitted to the kitchen.
